ABode Canterbury Wedding // Michelle and Adam

ABode Canterbury WeddingI first met these guys a few weeks before their ABode Canterbury wedding in Kent. To say they didn’t stop laughing is an understatement and I knew from then, this was going to be a fun wedding! With temperatures soaring outside and Canterbury bustling with tourists, The ABode played host to a wedding that was fun, hot and intimate, with family and young guests taking center stage. Check out their story below.

First names: Adam and Michelle
Ages: 30 & 31
Wedding date: Saturday 14th July 2018
Venue: The Abode, Canterbury

How did you guys meet, tell me all? We had briefly met in passing before.. but I properly met Adam in a local pub one Saturday evening where he purchased me two sambucas, he got me drunk and we went off to a local nightclub which has since been demolished. Fortunately, we are still going strong! I secretly think he intended to get me drunk that night!

How did you get engaged, is there a cool story? Adam took me on holiday to Morocco, he waited until nearly the last day of our holiday before he proposed. It was perfect he had purchased a bottle of champagne and left 2 glasses in the resort gardens. He came to collect me from the bar area and said he had something to show me.
I was confused but followed, when we got there he got down on one knee and popped the question.

What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many? We looked around at lots of venues we wanted something classy but intimate. The Abode had exactly what we were looking for and it was a central location for our guests.
They literally have taken care of everything so it’s been a stress-free experience.
Plus at the time we booked Adam described our wedding coordinator as having a buck tooth… so I knew he wouldn’t run off with the wedding planner!! (she was lovely I may add).

What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding? We didn’t really have a theme for the wedding we wanted something classic so we went for Grey with Gypsophilia.

What is your first song and why? Our first song is “James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go” as this is the song Adam was playing when he proposed to me in Morocco.

What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding? Don’t worry about anyone else, do exactly what you want and have fun. Remember it’s about you!
