Carly and Simon had an elegant Birchwood Park Golf Club wedding that included soft colours, flowers and candles. The relaxed feel, without the normal speeches and formality went down well with guests, with the day being enjoyed by all. Check out Carly and Simon’s story below.
First names: Carly & Simon
Ages: 31/35
Wedding date: 17/09/16
Venue: Birchwood Park Golf Club
How did you guys meet, tell me all?
We met at new beach holiday park. Both our families have caravans at the park and we had gone to visit. I was 19 and Simon 24 and after a druken night in the clubhouse with a group of friends, we got together! So not very romantic at all.
How did you get engaged, is there a cool story?
No special story on how we got engaged. We have been together for 12 years have 3 children together, so we both just decided it was the right time to get married.
What made you choose your wedding venue, did you look at many?
We only decided to get married October 2015 so we didn’t have a lot of time to start planning! I didn’t want to have a long engagement, as it seemed silly after we had been together for do long. Most venues were booked up or had a 2 year waiting list, but we found Birchwood which catered for all our needs and booked straight away. We were able to tailor our special day to the way we wanted it, which other venues didn’t.
What was the inspiration/theme of your wedding?
I love anything old and pretty, so my theme for the day is very soft colouring and fresh flowers, with hearts and candles.
What is your first song and why?
Chaka Khan – ‘Ain’t no body’
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
So to other couples getting married – I would say, just take everything step by step. Don’t stress to much and try to enjoy the whole preparation leading up to the wedding day.
